In the Edit Favorite Host dialog enter the public IP address for your server.

You can find your public IP address by doing a Google search for: 'what's my ip'. You must be connected to your FileMaker Server network (office network). If you are unsure about this you can contact your internet provider and ask them for your public IP address, this is also a good opportunity to ask for a static public address. This ensures your public address wont change in future and you wont need to change these settings in future.

Below the address enter a name for the new host. This can be anything you like, usually your company name. Click Save. After you have done this the host will be permanently available in the Open Remote dialog by selecting Favorite Hosts from the View pull down menu in the Open Remote dialog.

You should now be able to see Briefcase in the list of available files. Select Briefcase and click Open
